Aja Hat

Aja by Norichan Knits. Aja features short row ear flaps that create just enough coverage for the ears without getting too much in the way!

Gauge: 18sts x 30 rows = 4” x 4” [10cm x 10cm] in Chart A Pattern holding both yarns on larger needles, blocked, and unstretched 

Finished Measurements: S (M, L); To fit head circumference of 17 (20, 23)” [43 (51, 58.5)cm] (*Note: Model is wearing a size M with a 21” [53.5cm] head circumference.)

• Circumference (measured around the widest of the hat) - 18 (19.5, 22)” [45.5 (49.5, 56)cm]
• Hat Height - 7.75” [19.5cm] for all sizes (excepting ear-flaps)
• Headband Height - 3.5” [9cm] for all sizes (excepting earflaps)

Materials Used: 100 (120, 140) yds of a heavy DK or light worsted weight yarn AND 90 (110, 120) yds of a fuzzy lace weight yarn (*Note: For the effect of this hat, both yarns are used. A single strand of heavy worsted could be substituted.)

• Dark Hat: Color A: Berroco Ultra Wool (100% superwash wool; 219yds [200m]/3.5oz [100g]) in 33113 Black Pep-per and Color B: Lang Alpaca Superlight (54% alpaca, 24% nylon, 22% merino; 218yds [199m]/25g) in 749.0006 (a cobalt blue)
• Light Hat: Color A: Plank and Stella DK (100% sw merino; 231 yds/100g) in Succu-lents and Color B: Plank and Stella Alpaca Silk Lace (74% suri alpaca, 26% silk; 328yds/50g) in Shauna

Needle Size: US 6 [4mm] – 16” [40.5cm] circular; US 8 [5mm] – 16” [40.5cm] circular and DPNs or size to obtain gauge
